one step at a time

There were a couple of kids - couldn’t have been older than six or seven - playing in the shared green space behind my flat, a boy and a girl. The girl was playing with a doll and the boy was on the other end of the space, playing with an action figure, but he kept looking over at her. I don’t know how long he kept doing that, but he suddenly got this really determined look on his face, got up, walked over to her, and said, “You’re really pretty.” And then he ran back over to his action figure, but the little girl had the biggest smile on her face and it was just so cute.

Jason’s been gone less than a week and I’m already eating cereal dinners and going to bed at 8PM. It’s embarrassing, really, but I’m just too tired to do anything else! How did I ever manage to go out to bars and come home at 5AM during my college days?! At this point, I don’t even like driving at night!

I’d like to say that I was busy the whole time, but that’s only partly true. I got a little lazy and then Tumblr ended up at the back of my mind until I realized that my last post was a month ago.

But in between me being lazy, Basil had his first birthday and Reid and I had our birthdays (fun fact, we were born on the same day 3 years apart)! We celebrated the weekend before our birthdays so our family got together at my mum’s in Oxford - my aunt even flew in from California! And then my dad decided to smear cake in my face. If anyone ever wondered where Adam and Reid get it from, there’s their answer.

Have I missed anything big while I’ve been away?

I’m jealous of everyone who is watching the opening ceremony right now.

My mum and dad got me and Reid tickets for our birthdays!

I thought puzzle piece piles were supposed to get smaller the farther along you get. Not multiply like mine seem to have done.

I started working on a 1,000 piece puzzle today and I no longer have a table to eat on. Or a lot of counter space to cook on. In fact, it’s possible that there are little piles of puzzle pieces all over my flat.

Had a wonderful night with Kurt! It was nice to kick back and relax outside of work! My flat now officially feels like home and I discovered that margaritas are one of the few alcoholic drinks that I can have without getting tipsy after one glass. Good to know.

Basil really enjoyed having company over too. He kept trying to strut around the flat with his toys in his mouth like the show-off he is.

Housewarming party? I’ll bring the booze.

Deal! Friday evening, maybe?

Well, for the most part. I still have some decorating to do, but the furniture is all moved in and where it’s supposed to be and it’s finally looking like my home.

And none of it’s broken, which is sort of a miracle considering my brothers helped me move.

I too have decided to leave this RP. Like Belle and Rory, one of the reasons I have made this decision is because Claire is heavily connected to the characters who are leaving and it makes sense for her to continue on with them. There are also some other reasons that I have decided to leave, and this isn’t a decision I made just overnight - I’ve been thinking about it for a while now.

I really love this RP and the characters and people on here, but I have been having trouble keeping up with everyone and the various storylines for a while now. It’s awesome that Breakout Gleeks has so much activity - it is so great to see that among all the RPs that I’ve seen that are dying out. I just don’t feel like I can do Claire justice and keep up with everything at the same time.

Claire’s blog will also remain up, but she won’t be connected to Breakout Gleeks anymore. I’m going to try and keep posting with her and developing her, because I’m not ready to let her go yet. I love her too much.

So thank you so much to all those who have made this a great experience. I’ll miss you!

I think I lost my floor to boxes. On the bright side, 2 more days until I’m in my new flat!

The DeVinci Code or Seabiscuit are both terribly boring movies. To me anyway. Or Titanic, that’s another boring one.

I actually like Titanic. But I haven’t seen the other two. I’ll give those a try next time I can’t sleep!
